Printer Friendly Version 24.04.2024 - Political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs, Foreign Trade and Federal Cultural Institutions of the Kingdom of Belgium were held in Belgrade @ 25 April 2024 10:30 AM

The Belgian delegation was led by Director General for Bilateral Affairs Jeroen Koreman, while the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was led by acting Assistant Minister for Bilateral Cooperation Tamara Rastovac Siamašvili.

In a friendly and open conversation, it was assessed that the bilateral relations of the two countries are good, as well as that there is potential for their further improvement in areas of mutual interest. The continuity of the political dialogue achieved in the previous period was positively assessed, and regular consultations between the two ministries contribute to its dynamics.

In the talks with the Belgian side, the focus was on the European integration process of R. of Serbia, especially in the context of Belgium's presidency of the Council of the EU. The Belgian side expressed its support for the European integration of Serbia, as well as the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, which it sees as a prerequisite for stability in the region and its European perspective.

Very good cooperation in the field of economy was highlighted, as well as mutual willingness to further deepen it, and possibilities for intensifying cooperation in other areas were discussed.

They discussed cooperation within international organizations, the situation in the region and current global topics.
