On October 20, Ambassador Tasić met with the President of the Senate of the Belgian Parliament, Stephanie Doze.

The President of the Senate conveyed her impressions from her visit to Serbia in September and from the meeting she had with the President of the National Assembly of Serbia Dr. Vladimir Orlić. The interlocutors discussed the current level of bilateral relations between Belgium and Serbia, particularly with an emphasis on parliamentary cooperation. They discussed the process of Serbia's European integration and the challenges along the way. The ambassador expressed the expectations that Belgium will continue to support Serbia's efforts towards full membership in the European Union. The meeting was a good opportunity for the ambassador to inform the President of the Senate about the progress of the Dialogue with the temporary institutions of self-government in Pristina.

Special attention is paid to opportunities for strengthening economic cooperation, especially because Serbia represents the engine of development of the entire region, and the "Open Balkans" initiative is an additional impulse for new foreign investments. The good parliamentary relations between the two countries were confirmed, and the interlocutors agreed that there is room for their further improvement, especially through the establishment of mutual contacts between the representatives of the two parliaments.
