On February 8, Ambassador dr Marina Jovićević had a meeting with the President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federal Parliament of the Kingdom of Belgium, Ms. Els Van Hoof.

A special topic was dedicated to the fight against the Corona virus, in terms of a balanced approach of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, aimed at preserving human health on the one hand and maintaining economic flows on the other. The President of the Foreign Affairs Committee was also informed about the vaccination procedure in the Republic of Serbia, where, so far, over half a million of population have been vaccinated. The ambassador also informed about the good economic results of Serbia compared to the Eurozone and the construction of two new hospitals for the treatment of patients with Covid-19.

The process of European integration of Serbia and the challenges on that path, as well as the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, were also discussed. Ambassador Jovićević expressed the expectation that new methodology will be applied sooner than later, and that Serbia will continue its negotiations with the EU at a more intensive pace this year,, as well as that Belgium will provide support along the way. Our readiness to continue the dialogue, under the auspices of the EU, after the upcoming elections in Kosovo and Metohija, was emphasized, with the expectation that the Serbian community, represented by the Serbian List, will again get a legitimate representative that will continue to fight for the interests of Serbian and other peoples in Kosovo and Metohija.
