Тhe International Taste Institute, the leading organization for assessment and certification of tastes, awarded the Superior Taste Award for five premium products from Serbia. Traditional Serbian high-quality products - dried plums, raspberry spreads, cold pumpkin oil from pumpkin seeds, raw honey with lyophilized plum powder and ajvar have been given the most famous, independent worldwide certificate in the field of food consumer goods. The companies Agranela from Valjevo, Real Red Raspberry from Becej, Ecovital from Bikić Dol, Happy Honey from Belgrade / Kučevo and Strela from Leskovac were awarded.
On the occasion, on the basis of the proposal of the USAID Competitive Economy Project, which supported by Serbian manufacturers and representatives of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of the Republic of Serbia, a presentation of these products was organized at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Brussels and the Mission of the Republic of Serbia to the EU, for representatives of the federal and local authorities of the Kingdom of Belgium and EU institutions, as well as for business entities and representatives of several chambers of commerce from the Belgian regions. The presentation was attended by about 70 people.
The attendees were addressed by M. Jovicevic, Ambassador of R. Serbia in K. Belgium, who pointed out the importance of this award for the further development of the food industry in Serbia and the promotion of the Serbian high quality food industry abroad, and Jasmina Debeljak Markovic from USAID, who pointed out that the world's largest retail chains worldwide increasingly recognize the Superior Taste Award as a high-quality certificate, manufacturers which won prizes for their products gain a significant advantage over domestic and international competition because the award recommend them to consumers.
