On 19 November 2018, the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia, in cooperation with the War Heritage Institute of the Kingdom of Belgium, organized the celebration of the centenary of the end of the First World War at the Royal Museum of Armed Forces and Military History. The gathering, with an occasional speech, opened ambassador Marina Jovićević, PhD. She spoke in particular about the huge casualties that Serbia submitted in the First World War and cited all statistics on the number of male and female victims in the work and reproductive age, the number of victims, the total losses that were the highest among all the countries participated in the First World War, the number of wounded and orphans. In the name of the Institute, the retired general  Oger Pochet addressed to the public, and pointed out the importance of this joint commemoration.

After introductory presentations, representative sections from the film "The Long Journey to the War" by Milan Skundric, which depict the situation in the Balkans and Europe a few years before the outbreak of the First World War, were presented, and then the author Aleksandar Gatalica spoke about his novel "The Great War" , as well as about other authors in Serbia who wrote about the Great War.

At the end of the evening, a cocktail was served where Serbian food and beverages were served, which was prepared by a part of the Embassy staff.
