Exhibition "Ivo Andrić - between writer and diplomat" was opened at the University Library of the University of Antwerp, on November 7, 2018, in cooperation with the Embassy of Republic of Serbia in Brussels, Honorary Consul of Republic of Serbia in Antwerp Aleksandar Davidović, University of Antwerp and Regional Offices of the Autonomous Province of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The exhibition, which consists of 20 panels about the life and work of Ivo Andić as diplomat, was prepared by the Museum of the City of Belgrade, with the financial assistance of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia. The author of the exhibition is Ms. Tatjana Korićanac, Director of the Museum of the City of Belgrade and the curator of the Museum of Ivo Andric.
After the introductory presentation of the rector of the University of Antwerp Herman Van Goethem, and professor`s Slobodanka Moravcevic presentation of the literary work of Ivo Andric, ambassador Marina Jovicevic opened the exhibition in Antwerp, with a speech about Andric`s diplomatic career.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by professors and students from the University of Antwerp and the University of Ghent (from the Serbian language department led by S. Moravcevic) as well as members of the Serbian diaspora from Antwerp. After the opening of the exhibition, the audience had the opportunity to taste Serbian wines and rakija, as well as home-made snacks and pies.
