On the occasion the Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia, a reception for representatives of diplomatic corps, Belgian and European institutions, representatives of NATO, business sector, academia, and media was organized on 20 February 2018, in the City Hall of Brussels, on the Grand Place, in the center of Brussels.

Over 300 guests were present at the reception. The reception was organized after the four-year break and was supported by NIS-Gazpromneft, the general sponsor and company Philip Morris. The city authorities of Brussels contributed to the reception, enabling the use of two central ballrooms of the City Hall under favorable conditions. The guests were greeted by the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Brussels, Marina Jovicevic, who, in a convenient speech, explained the importance of Sretenje, as the date when the liberation of Serbs began and the founding of the modern Serbian state and the adoption of the first Constitution of Serbia took place. The guests were also greeted by the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the EU, Ana Hrustanovic and the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to NATO, Miomir Udovicki.

The guest also had the opportunity to enjoy in beautiful performance of members of the KUD "Moravac" from Düsseldorf, who made a selection of folk dances from Serbia.

The reception took place in a very warm and warm atmosphere, and guests, besides the international menu, were served the national specialties as well as a wide range of Serbian brandy and wine.
