Duska Sifnios, prima ballerina of the National Theatre in Belgrade and of the Ballet of the Twentieth century in Brussels, passed away on 14th October this year in Brussels, where she lived.

The commemorative evening dedicated to deceased artist was held in the "House of Maurice Bejart", on 22nd November 2016, in organization of the "House of Maurice Bejart“ and Duska’s son Patrick Vandernoot.

The exhibition "Duska Sifnios, step by step", through camera, drawings, video and film recordings has shown the life of this exceptional ballerina, whose most important achievements were realized in Brussels, between 1960’s and 1970’s, primarily in cooperation with the famous choreographer Maurice Bejart.

Their creation of Ravel’s "Bolero", the most performed version of the ballet, which is still performed all over the world will be remembered forever. In the framework of the exposition are also shown testimonies of over twenty ballet performances, among which are Duska’s performance of "Giselle" and "Swan’s Lake."

The President of the Foundation "House of Maurice Bejart", writer and publicist Michelle Rober and Duska’s daughter Aleksandra Vandernot addressed to the friends and admirers of Duška after presentation of Ravel’s "Bolero".
