Special Olympics European Summer Games in Antwerp 2014 – dinner in the catering school in Aarschot

On the occassion of the Special Olympics European Summer Games in Antwerp 2014 and the participation of the delegation from Serbia in the games, Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in the Kingdom of Belgium, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Serbia Aleksаndаr Dаvidović, in cooperation with the Belgian hosts (Special Olympics Committee, the cities of Aarschot, Begijnendijk, Rotselaar, Tremelo and the catering school SIMA), with support of the Delhaize Group and the National Tourism Organisation of Serbia, organised a welcoming dinner for the teams, trainers and their Belgian hosts. Apart from other guests from the 4 Belgian towns, David Geerts, member of the Belgian federal parliament and the president of the Inter - Parliamentary Group Belgium - Serbia attended the dinner.

The dinner was prepared by the Serbo-Belgian chef Nјegoš Kаličаnin, star of the television programme, „My Kitchen, my rules“ in the production of the TV B92 and Emotion Production. The pupils and teachers of the catering school SIMA helped Mr. Kаličаn to prepare the dinner.

On the occassion of the dinner welcoming speeches were held as well as two promotional films of the National Tourism Organisation of Serbia were screened: Lyfestyle Serbia and Soulfood Serbia.

Special Olympics games were founded in 1968. A total of 57 international delegations, 2000 sportsmen and sportswomen, 7000 trainers and 700 referees are taking part in the SO2014 in Antwerp. The delegation from Serbia is amongst the numerous ones with a total of 67 members.

The opening ceremony of the Special Olympics will be held at 15:00 on Saturday 13th September 2014. Special Olympics last until 20th September 2014.
