Serbian ambassadors to the Kingdom of Belgium and the European Union, Vesna Arsić and Duško Lopandić, laid wreaths at the Serbian monument in the Allied cemetery Robermont and the memorial "Last Post" in Ypres/Leper. Serbian army alongside its Allies led the liberation war in which the country, in proportion to its size, had the highest losses (25% of the total population and 38% of male age 15-65) compared to other countries in both camps. A similar fate (occupation, enormous civilian casualties, fierce battles on the national territory during the entire duration of the war) is associated with both Belgium and Serbia being the main victims of the horrors of war 1914 – 1918.
